Who are we?

We are a free-to-air dynamic community based television station. tvCentral launched in January 2002. In April 2008 tvCentral joined Freeview HD providing crystal clear digital quality pictures and sound. This is the preferred platform for regional and HD television in New Zealand, giving us a potential viewership of 10.38% of New Zealand's population, all within our regional coverage area.

Our Philosophy

We are building tvCentral on a strong foundation by providing high quality programming - both local and international, that contains positive values and is "family safe".

Our Aim

• To foster and strengthen community spirit by raising the profile of local people, organisations and projects.
• To provide 30% local programming content within our daily broadcast.

Our Region

Currently we broadcast to a potential 500,000 homes in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty from our Matamata broadcast centre.
